FERMIAMO IL MASSACRO A GAZA, FERMIAMO LA GUERRA!
La gravissima situazione a Gaza, la decisione del Governo israeliano di attuare l’attacco di terra, dopo oltre una settimana di bombardamenti, quale rappresaglia contro l’irresponsabile lancio di razzi kassam da parte di Hamas, sta determinando una vera e propria catastrofe umanitaria.
La comunità internazionale deve intervenire con ogni mezzo per ottenere il cessate il fuoco, interrompere l’ennesimo scenario di guerra, consentire gli aiuti umanitari alla popolazione palestinese.
La Striscia di Gaza si configura ormai da tempo come una sorta di prigione a cielo aperto, segnata da ogni tipo di privazione, a partire dalle gravissime carenze di cibo, luce, acqua e medicinali.
Non è in discussione il diritto di ogni popolo a difendere il proprio territorio, ed è evidente che vi sono pesanti responsabilità di Hamas nella scelta di colpire con il lancio di razzi le popolazioni civili delle vicine località di frontiera israeliane. Ma è altrettanto evidente che Gaza e la sua popolazione stanno ora subendo una rappresaglia di violenza inaudita e assolutamente sproporzionata, in una terra in cui il diritto internazionale e il diritto umanitario sono stati permanentemente violati, in cui la popolazione è stata sottoposta ad una brutale punizione collettiva, e dove bombardamenti ed azioni militari stanno causando un numero altissimo di vittime tra i civili, tantissimi bambini.
La comunità internazionale non può assistere impotente ad una sorta di soluzione finale della questione palestinese. L’ONU deve intervenire, anche attraverso una forza di interposizione per ottenere il cessate il fuoco, presupposto essenziale per riprendere la strada del dialogo, per il ripristino delle condizioni di pace, dopo decenni di conflitto, di violenza, di stragi e di terrorismo e, per sancire definitivamente il dritto di entrambi i popoli a vivere all’interno di due Stati, riconoscendosi reciprocamente.
Per questo è necessario fermare innanzitutto le armi. Questa è la priorità che deve muovere il movimento e le forze pacifiste del nostro Paese, raccogliendo le tante voci e le istanze che in tal senso si esprimono anche in queste ore in Israele e Palestina.
Per questo chiediamo a tutti coloro che condividono questo obiettivo e la grave preoccupazione per quanto sta avvenendo, di mobilitarsi partecipando al
